Experience

2003-Present: Senior Consultant, Blair Consulting Group, Denver, Colorado

Ms. Gaipa is responsible for the design and coordination of Blair Consulting Group's training activities in the areas of HIPAA and quality management. As Senior Consultant, she is also responsible for EAP program consulting and planning in the area of HIPAA compliance. Her unique experience of working with both internal and external EAPs, large managed care organizations and information technology groups gives her a breadth and depth of experience to help EAPs realize compliance with the HIPAA standards in a cost effective manner.


2001-2002: Director of Healthcare, Excel Professional Services, Denver, Colorado

Responsibilities included development of a healthcare vertical practice within a technology project and solutions firm. Ms. Gaipa developed gap analysis tools and project methodology to achieve end to end HIPAA compliance, data management and business process improvement in a cost effective, business strategy driven environment. Clients included behavioral health and external EAP vendors.


1999-2001: President, Magellan Behavioral Health Regional Service Center, Englewood, Colorado

Ms. Gaipa led a regional service center covering 450,000 covered lives, including accounts with Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Colorado, Kansas Prudential/Aetna and CHAMP/VA. She supervised clinical, network, operations and quality improvement functions, including participation in an NCQA three-year audit. Ms. Gaipa provided consultation and training regarding employee management and productivity issues to several small and mid sized employer groups.


1995-1999: Plan Administrator-MCC Behavioral Care-CIGNA Healthcare of Colorado, Greenwood Village, CO

Responsibilities included directorship of MCC of Colorado's EAP program, which included the organization and management of the response to the Columbine High School tragedy. In response to Columbine, she developed and oversaw a plan for client organizations such as Jefferson County Schools, Coors, Texaco and JC Penney to respond to their employees with critical incident debriefing and support; juvenile violence identification and EAP services for over 12,000 employees during that time. Ms. Gaipa was also responsible for development and delivery of corporate workplace seminars, which included drug free workplace training, violence in the workplace, stress management/corporate change and work/life balance. She recommended and implemented action plans for behavioral/organizational change for individuals, teams and companies. This included work with executives/managers at all levels of an organization to handle sensitive human resource issues with regard to productivity, morale and safety.


1983-1994: EAP Affiliate Services, Massapequa, NY

Ms. Gaipa provided employee assistance evaluation, consultation and training, along with educational seminars in the workplace. She worked with companies such as Pan American Airlines, United Airlines, Metro North and Nassau County in management consultation and training; clinical assessment and follow up services and employee education/program development. In addition, she also conducted training on the family dynamics of chemical dependency and points of intervention in the workplace arena.
