Mary Ellen Gornick, MA

Ms. Gornick is a nationally recognized expert in the field of WorkLife. She co-founded CPA in 1984 and continues to provide leadership to CPA’s practices areas, WorkLife Consultation, Community Relations, and Consultation and Referral Services. Ms. Gornick assists clients create work environments that allow employees to maximize their effectiveness at work and in their personal lives. Her work with clients includes organizational assessments, WorkLife strategy development and implementation and effectiveness - outcome studies. CPA Group has a diverse client base including a variety of industries, community based and government organizations.
In 1999, Ms. Gornick was recognized as one of Chicago’s “100 Women Making a Difference”. Mary Ellen co-authored, Developing a Child Care Center – A Guide for Decision-Makers for the American Medical Women’s Association. She is a media source and frequent contributor to several publications including, Benefits and Compensations Solutions Magazine.
Ms. Gornick is a founding board member and past President of the Alliance of Work/Life Professionals (AWLP). She is on the Associate Faculty for the Boston College –Center for Work and Family – Alliance of Work Life Professional Certificate Program. Previous board positions include the Chicago Metro Association for the Education of Young Children and NTWH Advisory Board. Ms. Gornick earned her Master's Degree from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration and is currently associated with the Entrepreneurship Center, in the School of Management at Purdue University-Calumet.
